Nail Art - Mariachi Fiesta

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

The first few weeks of September has always been busy for me. Most of my friends have birthdays in September. This last month has been crazy! This blog has been neglected (yet again) but I am trying to post when I can!

A little background to why I had created a Mariachi Fiesta on my nails...
A close friend recently celebrated her birthday and I thought it would be nice to create a theme on my nails! As pandas and mexican themed inside jokes are a regular between our group of friends (no racial slurs intended), I thought I would extend it out to her on my nails too!

I love the vibrant colours, however this is my second attempt at a mexican themed nail art. My first attempt involved a lime apple green background with dark green cacti (but the colours were too intense!) So this is where I've ended up...

What's on my nail?
  • OPI - Nail Envy (matt base coat)
  • Chanel - Holiday
  • Nfu-Oh - NFU44
  • Konad - yellow stamping polish
  • Seche Vite - Top Coat
  • Stamping plates are from the Cheeky Jumbo Plate Range (Jumbo Plate 1 - Viva Mexico)

How to achieve this look:
  • OPI - Nail Envy (matt base coat) - 1 coat
  • Chanel - Holiday - 2 coats
  • Nfu-Oh - NFU44 - 2 coats
  • Seche Vite (to protect the background colour)
  • Konad - yellow stamping polish (stamped with the above mentioned plate)
  • Seche Vite (to protect the final design)
I do love this simple design. The yellow definitely stands out when my nails are under unnatural lighting, however this is not always the case in natural lighting. As the Nfu-Oh is a flakie, the two-toned colour sometimes stands out more on the nail (making it hard to see the design). If you would like a more intense or bold stamp, I would use a black stamping polish instead.

The more I look at this, the more I want Doritos chips! I love these colours and I just can't wait for spring to show its face (finally!)

Please note that credit is due to my friend from
Getting Girly With Konad for allowing me to use her stamping plates and recommending me the Nfu-Oh flakie polishes!
