Nail Art - Ahoy!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

As you could probably tell from my blog background, some of my favourite colours are blue and white. AND you most probably could guess that I really like a nautical theme.

Well I just had a girly night with one of my close friends. She is a wealth of knowledge with all things nails and I am so excited to show you what came out of girly night! NAILS!

This manicure and my friends advice has re-ignited my interest in stamping and revamped my nail polish options yet again! I think she would also be very pleased about convincing me that OPI's Nail Envy is a awesome base coat! She has also provided me a new love towards base coat. Kudos to my awesome friend in achieving success over my stubbornness!

This manicure was done last Friday, but it has lasted with minimal wear so far (today is Wednesday). I love this manicure and would love to redo this manicure again in future!

What's on my nail?
  • OPI - Nail Envy (base coat)
  • OPI - Blue My Mind
  • OPI - DS Magic (on my ring finger only)
  • Sinful Colors - Snow Me White (as the stamping polish)
  • Seche Vite - Top Coat
  • Stamping plates are from the Cheeky Range (CH36 & CH49)

How to achieve this look:
  • OPI - Nail Envy (base coat) - 1 coat
  • OPI - Blue My Mind - 2 coats (1 coat only on ring finger)
  • OPI - DS Magic - 2 coats (ring finger only - you can do with one coat if you like)
  • Seche Vite (to protect the background colour)
  • Sinful Colours - Snow Me White (stamped with the above mentioned plates)
  • Seche Vite (to protect your design)

I can't stop admiring this simple, but pretty design!

Please check out my friends blog for some great inspiration with nail stamping!

Laneige - Balancing Emulsion Moisture Review

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Please read the Laneige - Power Essential Skin Refiner in the previous entry if you would like to know my review about the Moisture range.

So after applying the Power Skin Refiner (simply put... a toner), I would then moisture with the Laneige balancing emulsion. As you can probably see in the picture, I have not used this as fast as the Skin Refiner, but this is due to my Light version. The Light balancing emulsion lasted forever!

For as long as I have used this, the Moisture range hasn't really appealed to me as much a the Light range has.

What I love about this product:
  • The cream is heavier and thicker than the Light balancing emulsion
  • Packaging! The easy cap and push dispenser makes measuring the appropriate amount of moisturiser out easy! (for me, this product required 1-2 pumps of product)
  • Doesn't break skin out
  • No distinctive smell
What I dislike about this product:
  • It doesn't really absorb into the skin. It kind of stays at the surface.
  • I have to use more product to have the same coverage
  • The cap can come off super easy if you aren't careful - definitely NOT travel friendly!

My recommendations:

I think the Moisture range overall would better suit an audience with normal to dry skin. Although I can have dry skin, it doesn't seem to make my skin feel and softer or fresh than the Light range has.

Would I repurchased this? My answer is the same as the previous entry - probably not. I feel that the Light range makes my skin soft and supple, whilst this had little to no absorbing power for me. I feel I have a slightly faster shine later in the day when using the moisturising range compared to the light range.

Using the Light range along with the Water Sleeping Pack EX, I feel has provided a better skincare routine and solution in ridding acne scars and leaving your skin refreshed.

Laneige - Power Essential Skin Refiner Moisture Review

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I'm back with yet another review for Laneige! This time (as you could probably see from my title) I am reviewing the moisture range! I was diligently awaiting to finish off the last of my light skincare line before properly giving this a good trial!

I was also talking to my cousin about this product prior to her travels to Australia, and the sales representative recommended the moisture line for the harsher weather we have in Australia. This is a slightly heavier liquid and had a milky texture. Please read more for my pro's & con's...

What I love about this product:
  • Even though this is slightly thicker and a bit oily in texture, it still feels quite light when applied onto the face
  • Doesn't break skin out!
  • No distinctive smell
  • Packaging! I love how much Laneige keeps it simple, yet they change the colour to indicate different ranges
What I dislike about this product:
  • Packaging - It seems to be a continuous love/hate relationship. Definitely NOT travel friendly! Although this is a screw top, it can sometimes be difficult to screw the lid on when you have product in your hand.
  • Value for money - I have used this product for a much shorter time than the light range and have gone through so much product!
  • Texture and result - I don't like the milky texture and I feel like there is no obvious difference to my skin that it is more moisturising than the light range. I feel like I need more product to cover my whole face in order to see the same results
My recommendations:

I think this product may serve a better purpose with someone with normal to dry skin. Although I have combination skin, I do not believe that it has made a huge difference to my skin.

The milky texture is similar to having the milk bath water in your bathtub. Yes its nice once in a while, but on my face.... well I just don't enjoy it. I feel like this product must take more time in soaking into my skin no matter how I apply it.

Would I repurchase this? Probably not. Unless Laneige decided to go on a evil spree and discontinue the Light range, I would still stock up to the ceiling with the light skin refiner before purchasing this one again. This review sounds super harsh, but its not meant to sound that way. I just prefer the value for money and the Light skin refiners effects on my own skin.

On another note, it is a great product to try out if you have super dry skin and is gentle enough without breaking you out. The product still allows your skin to breathe.
