Etude House - Vita Foam Mini (Good Night) Review

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Etude House is a drugstore range from korea. Its candy/cute presentation tends to appeal and aim to the younger aged girls between 12-20. However, there are several different products to choose from and I have enjoyed some of the bright and intense pigmented colours their cosmetic range seems to offer. This product was a gift after purchasing several items instore.

What I love about this product:
  • The soft berry fragrance (most EH products have a sweet, gentle fragrance to them)
  • The ability to work and lather product into a foamy texture
  • Provides a nice cleanse prior to going to bed
What I dislike about this product:
  • It is very thick in consistency. Use small amounts only!

My recommendations:

I feel this product is great (and I really do enjoy the berry fragrance), but there are other skincare products that are equally as good.

Would I repurchase this? Maybe, but only if I wanted to change it up once in a while. This isn't really something I would go crazy over but I love the clean berry smell it provides when cleansing the face.

Take care and until next time,

Harublossom88

Biore - Acne Mild Care Oil Control Review

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Another Biore product! There are heaps of Biore reviews today, as I have been trying out a range of different facial skincare lines from this range. Please read more below!

What I love about this product:
  • The easy foam dispensing pump
  • It provides a consistent amount of foam in 1 pump to cleanse the face
  • Light and gentle
  • Isn't a deep cleanse, but cleanses better than other foams I have tried (such as the Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing foam - see review here)
What I dislike about this product:
  • Dried out my face slightly, but if you used a slightly heavier moisturiser you could still use it.
  • It is definitely not a daily cleanser unless you suffer from really bad acne or have really oily skin.
  • The packaging is slightly bulkier and not travel friendly

My recommendations:

I would suggest this to someone with oily skin or 1-2 times a week use.

Would I repurchase this? Maybe, but not for myself. I would however purchase it for my sibling who have oily skin. The only time I could see myself using this is if I severely suffer from a really bad break out (which hasn't really been the case since early high school).

Kose - Softymo Speedy Cleansing Foam Review

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

The Kose brand has a large range of products under the Softymo heading. This particular product was picked up, as I was wanting to try new and different formulas to control my breakout and assist in mixing up my preferences in my daily skincare routine.

What I love about this product:
  • The easy foam dispensing pump
  • It provides enough foam in about 1-2 pumps to cleanse the face (when it worked properly)
What I dislike about this product:
  • Dried out my face like crazy (even if I used a toner and moisturiser)
  • You may need to pump it a few times to get enough product (as the product dispensed wasn't consistent each time)
  • As it dried me out, I also broke out heaps as a result (as it strips your skin from all your natural oils that are produced)

My recommendations:

I would suggest this to someone with extremely oily skin.

Would I repurchase this? No. This product did not suit my skin at all. Although it was effective in cleansing (overall), it dried my skin out way too much. I also felt that this product only cleansed the surface and did not provide a thorough cleanse when using it.

If you are interested in getting this, click the link below the picture. This link will take you to Sasa. I would suggest reading other reviews prior to purchasing this product. Even if it wasn't suited to my oily combination skin, it may be for you....

Biore - Cleansing Milk (Make-Up Removal Facial Wash) Review

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

In my search for a facial wash (whilst I was really breaking out), my friend recommended the Biore Cleansing Milk she was using. I picked up this cleansing milk in my travels to Japan, and have found it invaluable for travelling and removing make up. Since then, it is one of my holy grail face washes (especially when I wear make up).

This particular product comes from a range of different make up removal cleanses and facial wipes. However, I couldn't find this product in stores anywhere in Thailand and Malaysia (only in Japan). Although I had trouble finding the cleansing milk, you can easily find the make up removal wipes in the pharmacies across Thailand and Malaysia. I will post about the facial wipes product later on.

What I love about this product:
  • Extremely travel friendly (it is small and compact and I reuse the empty bottles for my shampoo and conditioner).
  • Cleanses the face easily from make-up residue (I usually prefer to use the Biore make up wipes prior to using this, but it is not needed - unless you wear a thick layer of make up!!)
  • Lightweight and a liquid consistency
  • The nozzle is just right for the consistency of the formula
  • Little product required
  • This bottle can last me on average for 2+ months (if you use it twice a day)
  • It is extremely gentle
  • You can purchase refill packs!! (I have seen them in Japan, but I'm not sure if its online. I usually purchase the bottles, as I reuse the bottles for travelling)
What I dislike about this product:
  • It doesn't foam up as much (although it is a milk formula) - this point is not a major concern to me
  • If you wear waterproof make up, I would recommend you remove your mascara and liners with the wipes prior to using this.
  • If you prefer to have a cake-face appearance in your make-up, you may need to use this a few times or use the make up removal wipes with it. (as it is a lighter cleanser)

My recommendations:

This was my go-to daily wash, but lately (due to some break outs), I have been using a deeper facial cleansing routine. This is definitely the item I pack when going on holiday anywhere and is my number 1 choice as an additional cleanse to remove my make up.

Would I repurchase this? Yes! I love the the packaging and the formula. I haven't come across another facial make up remover/cleanser that is as gentle as this (as as effective). This price is also great too! I have repurchased this product several times since I first tried it out and friends who have tried it fall in love with it too!

If you are interested in getting this, click the link below the picture. This link will take you to Sasa. This is an awesome product for light make-up users and a travel friendly cleanser (as it can be used for a daily cleanser and make up remover!

Until next time,

Biore - Facial Foam Scrub (Pink) Review

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Over the years, I have been trying a series of different facial scrubs and washes that will prevent  my skin from breaking out. Biore has been one of my go-to brands for facial scrubs, as it provides a variety of scrubs which are suitable for my sensitive skin. Although I mentioned previously that Laneige is my favourite brand to use (especially for their toners and moisturisers), I like to make sure I change up my skincare routine to ensure my skin doesn't get accustomed to one particular product (which in the long term will mean it may not work as effectively as it previously did).

The Biore range is affordable and really value for your money! I picked up this particular product in the Guardian pharmacy whilst back in Malaysia. However, you can find this product in the link below. This particular facial foam  is a micro-scrub that has tiny pink microbeads to assist in the removal of dirt and excess oil, leaving pores unclogged. This particular formula is not as thick and heavy as previous facial cleanses I have used by this brand. Not only is the formula better, but the packaging has improved too!

What I love about this product:
  • Lightweight formula with microbeads with a more gentle and deeper clean
  • Little product is needed (you only need the tiniest big)
  • Lathers up really well with little water
  • Has a gentle fragrance to it (slightly sweet clean smell)
What I dislike about this product:
  • I don't really dislike it, but the nozzle where the product is dispensed is larger than I am use to. This also can mean that there is more product used than needed.

My recommendations:

Currently I use this as a daily scrub. Although it is a scrub, I don't feel like it is effective enough to provide a deep exfoliating clean. I alternate this with whatever other facial wash I am using at the time (eg: either mornings or afternoon use).

Would I repurchase this? Yes! I love the texture and how lightweight it is (even with a slightly thicker formula). I love how this product foams up and lathers easily and how it only requires a little to go a long way. I don't have many qualms about this product, and I hope anyone tries this won't either!

If you are interested in getting this, click the link below the picture. This link will take you to Sasa. I did try to find the Australian and US website, but they sell a small range of products. These websites for Biore only provide information for the Biore I haven't used (as all Biore products I purchase are usually from Thailand or Malaysia).

Until next time,

Laneige - Water Supreme Primer Base SPF15 PA+ Review

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I have been a huge fan of the Korean brand Laneige for years. On my trip to Thailand, I recently stocked up on a suitcase (literally...) on Laneige skincare. As I haven't found it in Australia (and it is reasonably affordable) I went and picked out a few cosmetic items by them. There is a  great range of subtle colours to choose from. I would like to review the following primer to provide a comparison to my previous Nars primer review found here

This primer also has a green tint to the base, as my skin tends to be more red (I am usually running around getting things done). The green in this primer provides a balance to my skin tone and allows a even colour and coverage on the skin. This primer has a thicker consistency compared to the Nars Pore Refining Primer.

What I love about this product:
  • Easy pump dispensing
  • Moderate application (it is thicker as mentioned above)
  • Evens out redness
What I dislike about this product:
  • It is a bit thick and feels a bit heavy to the skin (I think this is due to the SPF formula)
  • I feel that my skin cannot breathe as well as other primers
  • It can make you feel stuffy
  • It provides a cake-face appearance if you wear it for too long

My recommendations:

I only use this if I am going out in the sun for short periods of time. Even though it doesn't break me out, the thicker consistency feels heavier and doesn't provide a matt look. I feel it looks slightly oily (but I feel the same about BB creams for example... AND I am extremely pedantic about having a more matte appearance). I would definitely not recommend this in humid or hotter climates.

Would I repurchase this? Probably not. The packaging is really unsuitable for travelling, as the lid isn't fitted as securely as I would like. Also the texture doesn't provide me with the results  I would necessarily use it for.

**N.B. This is a primer with SPF. Therefore you will receive a white ghostly appearance if you use this in flash photography.

If you are interested in getting this, you may need to research where to purchase this product and read more reviews, as Laneige doesn't provide a much information about their products (and it's not sold on their website). Click the link below to get to the product on Laneige's website.

Nars - Pore Refining Primer Review

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

For graduation, I was searching for a primer that would provide me a smooth base to use foundation. I was also looking for a primer that would not have a flashback ghostly appearance, as I was having flash photography done on my graduation night. The sales assistant suggested I try this product out. It is now my favourite primer to use for daily use!

What I love about this product:
  • It lightweight and easy to apply (you won't need much!)
  • Thin cream texture
  • Smooths and evens the skin
  • Removes the appearance of excess oil on the face
  • Makes pores look smaller
  • Slim packaging - great for travel
  • Sits nicely even if you sweat
  • It doesn't break me out after wearing it the whole day
What I dislike about this product:
  • The scent - it smells of tea tree (but this is assisting in the removal of excess oils) BUT I will tolerate it regardless

My recommendations:

Use it a as light daily primer prior to applying your foundation. It is extremely lightweight and you won't realise you are wearing it! I love that you only need to use the tiniest bit of product for your entire face and that you can apply it easily with clean fingers.

Would I repurchase this? Yes. I love the packaging for travelling and the results from my flash photography. I love matt looks and this helps control the oils on my oily combination skin. I would love to try the other Nars primers in their range, but until this one is done I am extremely happy with it!

Nars - Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder Review

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Just recently I attended a make-up session for Nars. I loved learning new tips and tricks. There were heaps of products I would have never considered using. This review is on the new Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder. I have to say it is great! I love how it illuminates the skin, making it look fresh and dewy. The powder is essentially white with fine shimmer dust to it.

What I love about this product:
  • It lightweight and easy to apply
  • Provides a beautiful dewy glow
  • Provides a great finish and setting powder for your make-up
What I dislike about this product:
  • It isn't very good with flash photography (provides a slight ghost appearance)

My recommendations:

Use it a as light daily powder or to finish off and set your make up. I love this formula AND it comes in the loose powder or compact powder! I love Nars' consistency with their simple packaging and providing the options of loose and compact powders.

Would I repurchase this? Yes. Compared to the loose powder, I found this to apply nicely and did not transfer onto clothing. I love how this doesn't have a cake-face appearance after a long wear time. I would definitely use this as a daily setting powder! Compared to my Shiseido translucent powder, it sure sets the standard for great setting powders.

If you are interested in getting this, the Nars cosmetics link for this particular product can be found below.
